Our install team has over 25 years of experience in the industry.
- Final Touch was one of the first window coverings companies to focus on motorized solutions in 1991, and we are going to continue to be leaders in the field for the next 20 years. We intend to be that company that stays vibrant and relevant for years to come so we will be available to service your motorized products.

Sheerweave, sunscreen and sunshades are often used interchangeably. Sheerweave and sunscreen refer to fabrics that are woven together so you are able to see through them during the day. Sunshades are rollershades that use the sheerweave or sunscreen fabrics. These fabrics offer privacy during the day (if people are trying to look in) and allow the owner to see out. At night, however, when light conditions reverse, there is no privacy. The owner cannot see out, but anyone outside can see into the space.
Sunscreen fabrics offer privacy only during the day (people outside cannot see in). At night, however, when light conditions reverse, there is no privacy. The owner cannot see out, but anyone outside can see into the space.
Privacy fabrics and blackout fabrics. Privacy fabrics allow light to filter in, but it is not possible to see through them. Blackout fabrics don’t allow light to filter in and it is not possible to see through them.
If you are particularly light sensitive, you can install side channels with rollershades in your window to reduce the light leaks or you can install custom made draperies.
Yes. Lutron and HunterDouglas both have some excellent battery operated motors available with a variety of products. Some of the options can be controlled by an iPad or iPhone or integrated into your home automation system.
Battery life can vary depending on the product, anywhere between one to four years.
Our installers can show you how to replace the batteries yourself when they are installing the product. If it proves to be too difficult in the future, we can help you change them.
Typically we don’t service any products that we didn’t supply and install. It is usually better to go back to the original dealer that you bought the product from when you need your window coverings serviced.
Not usually. All the products we sell are custom ordered, so spare parts are limited. Usually parts need to be ordered in from the manufacturer and can take a few days. It is always best to call before arriving and we can advise on the best course of action.
Standard blind warranties include protection against manufacturer defects. They do not include damage due to wear and tear. Most warranty issues arise within the first few days of installation, however, occasionally things do show up after the blinds have been in place for a while. Most manufacturer’s will cover the cost of replacing or repairing the defective part for a limited period of time, but they will not cover labour costs for the removal and re-installation once it is repaired. They typically don’t cover the cost of shipping the product back to them for repair or replacement either.
Your motorized blinds will need servicing. It is valuable to have them looked at, at least once in the first year. However, anytime you notice any unusual sounds, a change in the lower or upper limits, telescoping, frayed edges or rubbing, you should give us a call.
There are two basic installation options:
The first installation option is to install one shade higher above the second shade, which reduces the gap in the corner. However, it requires a deep ceiling pocket to conceal the installation of the shades.
The second installation option is to have one shade bypass right into the corner and the other butt into it. This can yield sizeable gaps and the impact should be clearly understood.
